What Is SMP?

A Hair Loss Solution With A Difference
Scalp micropigmentation places tiny impressions of natural pigment in the scalp with a precise machine, so that each one looks like a hair follicle. It needs no surgery and it does not wash out, and it can rebuild a hairline, thicken thinning areas or blend a scar into the surrounding hair. Most clients have 2 to 4 sessions, 10 to 13 days apart.
Frequently asked questions
Is SMP the same as a normal tattoo?
No. SMP is a cosmetic tattoo made of tiny pigment impressions placed with precision to resemble hair follicles. It is not a standard body tattoo, so do not go to a traditional tattoo artist for it.
Will hair grow back after SMP?
No hair grows from this treatment. SMP creates the visual effect of hair, and the pigment used is described as safe and organic.
How long does SMP last?
SMP is semi-permanent. It lightens slightly over time, and a touch-up between 1 and 3 years later keeps it crisp and fresh. Individual results vary.
Who can benefit from SMP?
Bald men or men who are balding, women with thinning hair, people with alopecia, and people with hair transplant scars (FUT or FUE) or other facial or scalp scars.

Much More Than A Tattoo
SMP is a cosmetic tattoo, but the work is much more than the pigment. Your artist assesses your hair loss, designs a hairline that suits your head shape and face, matches the pigment to your hair and skin, and builds the result over several sessions. The equipment, tools and needles are made for scalp micropigmentation only, and because the treatment is semi-permanent, a touch-up between 1 and 3 years later keeps it crisp.
